Call for Scores

We are asking for any interested composers to submit the following for consideration:

• First priority will be given to femme/women/non-gender-conforming composers as well as composers with Utah ties.

• Original vocal works (song cycles, single art songs, no arrangements) of any length.

• Voice + Piano, or Solo Voice only.

• Text must be public domain, original, or proof of permission provided with submission.

• Inclusion of a sound file (midi acceptable) would be appreciated, but is not required.

• There is no limit on the number of submissions, 

• Pieces written for all vocal types are welcome.

• The deadline for submissions will be December 2, 2022. 

• There is no entry fee.

Selected pieces will be included in a local SLC area concert and composers will receive the following:

• 2 complimentary tickets to the performance

• a recording of the piece to be performed by a professional local vocalist and collaborative pianist (if applicable).

• listing on the Opera Contempo website, submission of bio to press/reviewers etc.

All composers will be notified of the results by Jan 1, 2023 along with further information concerning performance details.
